Venezia Film Festival 31 August - 10 September, 2011
The strong ties with the film world, which have never changed over the years, have led to cooperation between Persol and the 68th International Exhibition of Cinematographic Art of the Venice Biennial. For the third year running, the PERSOL 3-D PRIZE has been awarded. In previous years, this was won by the films Avatar, written and directed by James Cameron, and Dragon Trainer directed by Chris Sanders and Dean DeBlois. This year, the prize went to Zapruder (David Zamagni, Nadia Ranocchi, Monaldo Moretti), a team of Italian filmmakers, who make films distinguished by originality and method and sometimes by the contamination between visual arts, performing arts and films. Zapruder’s independent and artisan approach, combined with the creative use of 3-D, gives rise to expanded cinema projects in which spectators are invited to immerge themselves in tactile, visual and sound experiences. Persol’s research, craftsmanship and made in Italy adapt perfectly to the talent of the young filmmaker prize-winners. DISCOVER MORE
