Craftsmanship is the foundation of Persol. Ever since the first eyewear was developed in 1917, attention to detail has always been in the heart of everything the brand does. It is the brand’s intuition of being able to balance functionality with aesthetics that makes Persol what it is today. That’s why Persol’s Premium Glass lenses are produced through the most sophisticated processes and a 100% quality control. This quality is ensured through decades of expertise and experience as well as a vertically integrated process by Barberini, the prestigious lens producer.
With over 100 years of history, Persol’s sun expertise can be considered as the definition of excellence of the Italian eyewear industry. The Premium Glass lenses are the same lenses with the same exact quality and properties one expects from Persol, thanks also to the partnership with Barberini, the prestigious lens producer, specializing in optical glass. Each glass lens is developed and manufactured at the Barberini factory in Silvi, Italy. Due to its natural purity and transparency, glass offers enhanced visual clarity and is crafted through a process that combines advanced technologies with the human touch.

To familiarize you with the anatomy of a frame, here are the various components that make up a pair of Persol glasses.
Persol eyeglasses and sunglasses have the size measurements buffered on the inside of the left temples of each frame. Eyewear measurements are measured in millimeters (mm) and usually consist of three numbers. Below is an example of the engraved size information:
The first number indicates the width of the lens, and is the same number that indicates the size of the frame. In this case, the size is 49mm.
The second number refers to the width of the bridge. The bridge measurement is the distance between the lenses (DBL). In this example, the bridge width is 21mm. Typical width measurements are 15mm-23mm.
The third number refers to the length of the temples. Temples are the "arms" of the frames. In this example, the temple length is 145mm. Temple lengths vary from 135mm-150mm depending on the overall size of the frame.
An average lens width is 46mm-53mm. A narrow fit will be 45mm and under, and an oversized or larger fit is usually 55mm.
Persol's aim is to help customers find their perfect frame. Taking every face shape into consideration, Persol offers a variety of frame fits. Acetate frames are offered in standard bridge fits and metal frames are designed with adjustable nosepads that allow for an even more adjustable and customized fit.
